ABS plastic Electroplated Ni – W alloy
June. 30, 2022
Abstract: the technological process of Ni-W alloy electroplating on ABS plastics was introduced, which mainly includes: stress removal, , acid pickling, roughening, neutralization, primary reduction, pickling, sensitization, activation, secondary reduction, electroless copper plating, weak etching, thickening copper plating, Ni-W alloy electroplating and drying. The composition of Ni – W alloy electroplating solution is: nickel sulfate hexahydrate, sodium tungstate dihydrate, citric acid and ammonia (pH regulator). Under the condition that the total mass concentration of nickel sulfate hexahydrate and sodium tungstate dihydrate is 210g/l and the amount of citric acid is equal to the total amount of nickel sulfate and sodium tungstate dihydrate, the effects of the mass concentration ratio of nickel sulfate hexahydrate and sodium tungstate dihydrate, bath temperature, PH and current density on the microhardness, wear resistance, adhesion and surface morphology of the coating were discussed by orthogonal test. The optimum process conditions are as follows: nickel sulfate hexahydrate 60g/l, sodium tungstate dihydrate 150g/l, citric acid 130g/l, bath temperature 65 ° C, pH5, current density 20a/dm2, plating time 45min, nickel plate as anode, magnetic stirring. The coating obtained by this process has fine, smooth and glossy surface, high microhardness, good adhesion and excellent wear resistance.
